Jeff’s daughter, Olivia, decided this morning that she would not comply with the Northland Preparatory Academy’s school board decision to impose a mask mandate at the school. The board met Thursday night and voted 7-0 to impose the mandate despite an Arizona law that prohibits such mandates.Olivia, who is in the seventh grade shares her story. Jeff also recorded the principal while the school was trying to create an “alternative placement” room within the school in which children who refused to mask up would spend their day isolated from the rest of the school. While they would have a “certified adult” monitoring the class, they would not have instruction from their teachers.

Jeff talks with two parents whose kids attend Northland Preparatory Academy in Flagstaff, where their children may have been exposed to Covid 19 earlier in the week while at school. They received an email from NPA stating the following:
“If your student has not been vaccinated, please self-quarantine until 08/19/21. Your student will not be allowed on campus for any reason at this time. If your student has been vaccinated, they are allowed on campus.”Parents are frustrated that their children cannot return and are being signaled out over vaccinated kids and one parent stated that, “NPA promotes equitable education for all. What I’m seeing right now is not equitable education.”On April 19, Governor Ducey signed an executive order banning vaccine passports and preventing local governments from requiring Arizonans to provide vaccination status.
