BEFORE you vote on PROP 140, take a listen to my deep-dive (0:00-24:00) into Arizona’s Prop 140, the attempt to bring RANKED CHOICE voting to the state. This constitutional change has been billed as bringing “fair” and non-partisan primary elections but the confusing ranked choice voting portion is barely mentioned. In this segment I explain the status of Prop 140 after several court rulings. Scot Mussi, President of AZ Free Enterprise Club, discusses the legal challenges, court rulings and the confusion this change will bring to future elections if the voters pass it. Ned Jones of Citizens Election Research Center also describes the complexities of ranked choice voting and how you 5th place choice may win future elections.
In this episode, Olivia also joins me with an RFK Jr. whale tale (24:01-37:00) and details on an Arizona woman who’s going to jail after an apple juice breakdown and fight with a TSA agent.
